Our Mission
It is the mission of the Municipal Court to provide a fair, neutral and courteous administration of justice by providing accessible, efficient, impartial and well reasoned resolution of all court cases with a focus on customer service.
The Arcola Municipal Court has established policies and procedures for resolving traffic tickets and other fine-only misdemeanors in accordance with state law, but with a minimum of inconvenience. Before you attempt to resolve the case(s) against you, you should read carefully the content of the citation and handout that were given to you by the officer. You may want to seek the advice of a lawyer.

Jurisdiction
City of Arcola has general jurisdiction over all misdemeanor offense committed within the city limits and as allowed by law within territorial jurisdiction of the City of Arcola that are punishable by fine only.
A telephone call does not constitute an appearance and will not prevent issuance of a warrant.
Clerks are not licensed attorneys and cannot provide legal advice.
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C misdemeanors issued by the city police officers, code enforcement, animal control officers.
The clerks’ office is only responsible for processing clerical work of the court, setting dockets, collecting fines and fees, maintaining records and performing administrative duties delegated by the judge.
